Prepare a BOM for a clearer sourcing review

The part identity, quantities, dates and documentation that help a procurement team assess your requirements.

Start with the original part identity

Keep the manufacturer and complete manufacturer part number on every BOM line. Preserve punctuation, package and packing suffixes. An internal reference can be included in a separate column, but should not replace the original MPN.

Make the purchasing need clear

Add the required quantity, preferred purchase quantity if different, target delivery date and delivery destination. State whether partial deliveries are acceptable. Price, stock and lead time still require confirmation for the actual request.

Include documentation and inspection needs

Describe required traceability records, inspection reports, packaging conditions and any approved sourcing restrictions. For PCBA or project supply, identify the BOM revision and any customer-approved component list.

Keep alternatives under engineering control

Do not treat a shared series prefix or a text-similar search result as an approved replacement. Submit alternatives as separate lines only after the responsible engineering team has reviewed them.

Review before submitting

The linked products illustrate distinct full MPN records, not current stock offers or a recommended circuit. Check each record’s technical verification status. This preview RFQ saves test requests locally and does not send external email.
