Part-number review

Verify the complete part number before procurement

Why every suffix matters, how to use source documents and what a pending verification label means.

A series name is not an orderable identity

A family name helps you discover related devices. A purchase request needs the original, complete manufacturer part number. Preserve all letters, digits and suffixes when copying an MPN between a drawing, BOM and RFQ.

Check the exact source

Compare the complete MPN with the manufacturer’s official part-detail record. Review the corresponding datasheet for the confirmed package, pin count and operating limits. A family page alone does not confirm the technical details of every possible suffix.

Treat pending verification explicitly

Some catalog entries use customer-provided MPNs and are marked Technical details pending verification. Their package, specifications, qualification and lifecycle have not been established for that exact part. A missing part-detail page does not establish that a part is invalid or discontinued. Request confirmation before using it in a design or purchase.

Similar text does not mean interchangeable

INA199A2DCKR and INA199B2DCKR are separate identities. A common prefix, similar name or shared parameter does not establish compatibility. Any replacement needs an application-specific engineering review.

Confirm supply separately

Technical verification is a record of the documentation reviewed on the stated date. It does not confirm stock, price, lead time or distributor authorization. Keep these commercial questions separate when preparing an RFQ.
